Corrie star Adam Rickitt and his wife Katy Rickitt have been married since 2014 with the couple supporting each other through their career moves. Now Katy has shared she’ll be leaving Good Morning Britain behind for the rest of 2021.
The presenter will be switching over to ITV Calendar as one of the show’s main anchors.
She shared the exciting news on her Instagram earlier today as she explained how some viewers will be seeing “less” of her.
Katy penned: “Breaking News! Really excited to share with you that from the week after next I’m heading over to @itvcalendar to be their main presenter for 6 months!
“Aside from ditching fishing waders for frocks, more importantly it is a real honour and privilege to present a show I grew up watching and to be entrusted to relay all the daily hard work of a really incredible team to a county I’ll always call home.”
Katy continued: “For some of you it’ll mean seeing more of me, for some of you less for a while (you may need a break!) but I’ll share a link on here incase you want to tune in from outside. (sic)
“There are so many issues we’ll be addressing that spread far and wide.
“I hope you’ll join me in my final hurtle around the country of 2021 next week on @gmb, I’ll really miss the team there except when they’re waking me up in the early hours!
“To those who’ve joined me early doors thanks as always for all your support.

“Yorkshire I’m on my way! #newjob #takemebacktoyorkshire,” she finished.
The star is a news correspondent for GMB and has worked for ITV since 2008.
However, her new role will mean she’ll be taking a break from the early morning show.
ITV News Calendar airs live across Yorkshire & Lincolnshire on weekdays at 1:55pm, 6pm & 10:30pm.
Following her announcement, Katy was inundated with support from her 12,000 Instagram followers.
One penned: “How exciting!! Very well done! X”
Another added: “That’s fantastic news about time you got a job up front.
“You will be fabulous. Have a absolute ball and you will smash it. Enjoy every moment.” (sic)
“Congratulations Katy I’m so pleased for you,” replied a third fan.
A fourth wrote: “Fabulous!! Well done and enjoy.”
Elsewhere, Katy and Adam recently appeared on ITV’s Loose Women to discuss male infertility.
The couple spoke about not having children in hopes of breaking the taboo around the subject.
She said on the show: “We have the dogs, we have a business together.
“I love him and what happens thereafter, happens thereafter.”
