AceShowbizDonald Trump may avoid the formal repercussion of his role in the January 6 Capitol attack, but he can’t never escape public’s judgement on it. Six months after the deadly protest at the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C., a campaign for his arrest is gaining steam after the release of a video which highlights his involvement in inciting the attack.

The compilation clip, which was released by MeidasTouch.com on Sunday, July 11, tries to contradict the former president’s claims that the protesters were peaceful people, as the footage shows them beating police officers. It includes footage of his interview with Fox News’ anchor Maria Bartiromo.

“I know that you have had some time to reflect on what took place on that day, January 6th,” Bartiromo said early in the video, followed by Trump’s voice over footage of the riot. “It was a very mild-mannered speech,” he said of his speech at a rally that preceded the attack. “We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol. Because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength.”

During the interview, the former president claimed that there was “spirit and faith and love” at the rally, adding, “There was such love at that rally.” Meanwhile, the footage shows rioters beating up police officers with one of them shouting, “You’re gonna die tonight.”

“And they were peaceful people. These were great people,” Trump described the rioters in another part of the interview. He went on bragging, “And I mentioned the word love. The love in the air-I’ve never seen anything like it,” while some protesters shouted, “Hang Mike Pence!” repeatedly.

The video ends with a screen declaring, “Donald Trump is a domestic terrorist,” followed by the hashtag that has since been retweeted by other users, “#ArrestTrumpNow.” In a separate tweet, MeidasTouch.com argued, “It makes NO sense to arrest the January 6th attackers and not arrest the terrorist ringleader.”

Agreeing with the site, one user commented on the video, “563 arrests, but this guy is still free. #ArrestTrumpNow.” Another wrote, “I’m sick and tired of this stupid traitor MF. This is getting f**king ridiculous. #ArrestTrumpNow @TheJusticeDept.” A third one couldn’t wait for it any longer, tweeting, “WTF are they waiting for? #ArrestTrumpNow.”

Someone else explained, “There is one person responsible for the deaths of 5 people on January 6th. Donald J. Trump incited a violent mob to storm the capitol in an attempt to overthrow democracy and prevent the peaceful transfer of power.”
