Billie Shepherd ignores Ferne McCanns tears over voice note scandal as she has clear out

Mar 17, 2023

Billie Shepherd is yet to address Ferne McCann’s apology for the voice note drama as she instead worked towards a “huge clear out.”

As former cast members of The Only Way is Essex, Billie and her sister, Samantha Faiers, used to be close friends with their co-star Ferne before the voice note scandal last year.

Ferne addressed the voice notes leak on This Morning yesterday as she said: "It definitely wasn't my finest hour, and it definitely was a very difficult time in my life when those voice notes were leaked.

"I do need to take this opportunity to publicly apologise again to those affected. Obviously the words that I used were unpleasant and I have reached out privately to those people."

While on the first episode of her show First Time Mum last night, she also opened up on the scandal, revealing she sent the voice notes five years ago after a fallout with Sam as "she had a partner, she had a baby and I didn't."

Sisters Billie and Sam are yet to respond, though the former took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal that she was having a clear out of her old clothes.

Alongside a picture of athletic wear in neat piles, Billie, who recently teased her home bar, wrote: “Having a huge clear out today with the help from the lovely @organise_d ladies … I have lots of new and barely worn maternity clothes in a size 10, please DM me if you are a mumma to be that is in need of some maternity wear and I will post it out to you.”

After appearing on This Morning to tease her new show, where she also became teary-eyed and revealed that a criminal investigation is underway, the first episode of First Time Mum saw Ferne admit that the scandal "destroyed her career.”

Ferne also tearfully said she was "so ashamed and embarrassed" about the erosion of her friendship with Billie and Sam.

She admitted: "I'm so ashamed and embarrassed and I know the words are very hurtful. It was from a time when I was really hurting, and in a very vulnerable and bad place," she explained while sat reflecting in her car."

"They were from about five years ago when me and Sam had a fall out. It's very hard for me to talk about this because I don't want to bring up the past," the star sobbed. "Would I say those things now, absolutely not, but those I absolutely apologised for.

"But now because of this hate campaign and this person that has held onto them for five years, to weaponise them against me, I've lost my… I've lost some of my best friends.

"I've lost my whole relationship with Billie, and that really hurts.”

"She has been my best friend for so many years, and that plays into where I don't feel whole, I feel really lost. Friendships are so important. And you say things where if you're angry, or if you're hurt, you say things,” Ferne added.
