Eamonn Holmes was every inch the doting grandfather as he shared an adorable snap of his baby granddaughter.

And taking to his Instagram platform on Sunday evening, the former This Morning presenter gushed over the sweet five month old as he shared a sweet snap of her smiling for the camera.

Eamonn admitted that the youngster was his "best little Christmas presenter ever", as he began in the caption: "Sorry I'm becoming a Baby bore now but because of The Irish Sea her Grand Pappa doesn't see her as much as he'd like to."

The broadcaster continued in the caption: "Emilia, my best little Christmas present ever."

The sweet snap didn't go amiss with his following, with his wife Ruth Langsford commenting: "TOO cute!" along with a red heart emoji.

Lisa Snowdon penned: "Just too cute!!" while Catherine Tyldesley commented: "Oh my heart."

Declan is one of three children Eamonn shares his first wife Gabrielle Holmes along with daughter Rebecca, 30, and son Niall, 28.

He also shares 19-year-old son Jack with his current wife, Ruth.

Eamonn announced the happy news of his granddaughter's birth on a live episode of This Morning, alongside Ruth.

He said: "My son Declan and his wife Jenny are the happy couple.

"Jenny gave birth to Emilia, who is 7lbs 6oz."

Taking to Instagram shortly after the birth, he shared a black and white image of Declan and his baby girl, captioning the post: "My first born son Declan with his first born and my first grandchild Emilia.

"Welcome to The world Emilia. Just call me Papa."

On the professional front, Eamonn, who had been on This Morning for 15 years, announced that he would be joining GB News in January.

Eamonn said in a statement: "I've spent my career on broadcasting firsts and start-ups, and GB News is one of the most exciting yet. It's just the kind of shake-up the industry needs."

He added: "I've admired GB News from the beginning for its clever mix of punchy debate but delivered with warmth and even some fun.

"To me, the greatest honour in journalism is to give a voice and respect to the unheard, and that's exactly what GB News is all about."
