Happy Valley star Con O'Neill has said the final episode of the BBC One police drama is "extraordinary" as fans eagerly wait for the series to draw to a close.
The actor, 56, who plays Neil Ackroyd in the hit show, appeared on This Morning on Thursday to talk about new ITV drama Nolly as well as Happy Valley with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, who were keen to quiz him about the final episode.
Teaser photos and a trailer for the drama-filled finale, which is set to air on Sunday 5 February at 9pm, have already dropped, and now Con has dropped further hints about what's in store.
"When I read the script for the last episode, it blew my mind," the actor said on the ITV daytime show. "Sally has written an extraordinary ending to the show."
Satisfied with Con's reply, Holly added: "That is all I need. That is all I need."
Con also revealed he'd been away filming the second series of BBC Two show Our Flag Means Death in New Zealand and Los Angeles over recent months, and had been aware of the huge reaction Happy Valley had gotten from fans.
The 56 year old revealed when he landed in the UK people were whispering as they spotted him and recognised him his role in the BBC police drama, and admitted he'd also received some "bizarre DMs" recently.

Con's comments come after an explosive trailer for the final ever episode of Happy Valley was released along with spoiler pictures.
The spoiler clip released ahead of the final instalment teases a showdown between enemies Catherine Cawood and Tommy Lee Royce, leaving fans with "goosebumps".
The clip starts with Catherine looking suspiciously at a property while grandson Ryan Cawood, who has been chatting to dad Tommy over his gaming system after his escape from prison, is grilled by the police.
Catherine is then heard warning: "He's still out there, he's going to be angry and even more desperate and dangerous."
The trailer cuts to Tommy breaking into what appears to be Catherine's home as the police sergeant is then seen gingerly entering her property with a taser gun.
It then cuts to Catherine's co-workers at the police station running out in panic, appearing to respond to an urgent incident.
The chilling trailer ends with a bloodied Tommy appearing to attack someone in the countryside while the final scenes see Catherine breaking down in tears.
Fans were quick to react to the scenes as one person tweeted: "Teaser trailer for next week. I AM SCREAMING/CRYING. #HappyValley." A different account put: "I’ve already got goosebumps #HappyValley."
The Happy Valley finale airs on BBC One on Sunday 5 February at 9pm.
