Kelly Price's attorney claims star is 'safe' after being reported missing

Sep 25, 2021

Kelly Price’s attorney has claimed she is safe amid reports the gospel singer has been missing for a month.

Concern was sparked among fans last night when the legendary singer was reported missing in Cobb County, Georgia, with Cobb County Police confirming the news.

The 48-year-old was reported missing after she was released from hospital where she was being treated for Covid-19, having tested positive nearly two months prior.

However, hours after the news broke on Friday, Price’s attorney Monica Ewing has said that the singer is not missing – despite her being listed as such with the National Crime Information Center.

Ewing told TMZ that Price is continuing her recovery at an ‘undisclosed location’, and added to NBC News that the star had gone to a ‘quiet place’ after being discharged from hospital.

She said: ‘She’s safe. She was released from the hospital with Covid and she went to a quiet place and she’s trying to recover.

‘She’s got to rest and start the journey back to health.’

Cobb County Police had confirmed a missing person’s report was filed, but revealed no other details, including who filed the report.

According to TMZ, a welfare check was conducted at Price’s Georgia home last weekend, after Price’s kids got a call that she was discharged from hospital.

Her family allegedly had a welfare check conducted at her home as Price had gone ‘radio silent’ and allegedly told police that her boyfriend was keeping visitors away from her home.

Price last posted to Instagram on July 30, explaining her Covid-19 symptoms.

The Friend Of Mine singer said: ‘I wasn’t feeling so well last night, so I got up this morning and went to the doctor and got checked out. It had come back that I have Covid.

‘I am very achy. I am very weak. I can barely stay awake. I am following doctor’s orders and praying that this thing passes quickly so that I can get back to normal, whatever normal is now.’

During August, she was hospitalised and ended up in the ICU.

Price is one of America’s most popular gospel and R&B stars, and first made her name as a backing singer and guest vocalist for Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Faith Evans.

Eight solo albums have followed, most recently 2021’s Grace, and Price has been nominated for nine Grammys in her career
