Kendall Jenner has claimed that being famous thanks to Keeping Up With The Kardashians made it “harder” for her to become a supermodel.

The 25 year old, who recently revealed her secret dating rule, candidly discussed her career during the KUWTK reunion special and insisted her success as a model is a result of hard work rather than the famous family name.

Kendall also said the show had a detrimental effect on her career, telling reunion host Andy Cohen that her family's reality television fame left her "struggling" to be taken seriously in the fashion world.

She said: “I think everyone around me, whether friends or family, know how hard I worked and still work.

Kendall continued: “I did everything that I was supposed to do and had to do to get to the position I’m at now as a model.

“I went to every single casting, ran all over not only New York City but all over Europe trying to get a job and make my way."

Kendall, who recently snuggled up to beau Devin Brooker on Instagram, then admitted: "Of course I had a platform, I never took that for granted.

“I always knew that was there, but that almost made my job a little bit harder, because people probably didn’t want to hire me because I was on a reality TV show. I definitely worked my way to where I am now.”

When she started out in the modelling industry, Kendall banned her famous siblings and momager Kris from attending shows she was featuring in.

The star also removed her last name from the modelling card sent to designers and casting directors.

During the reunion episode, Kendall reflected on her love for the industry, and said she believes her passion for photography and fashion stems from when she was given her first camera at the age of 14.

Since then, she has gained a net worth of $45 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth, with Forbes noting that she earned $22.5 million in 2018 alone.
