They'd seemed like a dream couple – the stunning girlband member turned solo star and the pin-up footballer at the top of his game. After former Eternal member Louise Nurding married Harry Redknapp's son Jamie, their lives looked perfectly when sons Charley and Beau came along.
But while Jamie moved from a glittering football career, which included playing for England and captaining Liverpool and Spurs, to working as a TV and newspaper football pundit and captain on A League of Their Own, Naked hitmaker Louise has hinted that she felt lost. Life as a wife and mother had seen her own career slightly relegated.
Now she's embracing her rejuvenated career. And sources say that's her priority, along with her beloved boys.
Following her successful stint on Strictly Come Dancing, which paired her with Kevin Clifton and saw her reach the final, a switch flicked for Louise. The Curse of Strictly had supposedly struck again, and the couple split.
Now Jamie has a new partner in Swedish model Frida Andersson who expecting a baby to add to their brood. While Jamie has his sons by Louise, Frida has four children by her ex Jonathan Lourie.
But although rumours suggest that Louise was surprised by Jamie’s baby news, friends suggest she isn’t planning on creating a new family of her own and won’t be rushing to meet a new man any time soon.
She’s embracing her independence and doesn’t want to force a relationship, sources recently told new! magazine.
“Louise is putting so much effort into her career right now. She’s still not bothered about dating yet,” the source revealed.
“If she meets someone, she meets someone. But she won’t force it. She’s not interested in any dating apps – she’d prefer to meet someone organically. But she feels love will find her when it’s meant to. Until then, she’s happy as she is.”
Louise’s 20-year marriage to Jamie Redknapp ended in 2017, just months after Louise took part in Strictly Come Dancing with professional dancer Kevin Clifton.
At the time, Louise, 46, who has sons Charley, 17 and Beau, 12, called Strictly her “saviour”. She also revelled in returning to the stage after 12 years of “doing the mum thing”.
In May, she was reportedly left shocked by the news that Jamie, 48, was expecting a baby with girlfriend Frida Andersson, who he first went public with in August 2020.
But sources tell us that Louise is now excited about moving on to the next chapter of her life.
“Louise feels she lost her identity in her marriage with Jamie,” revealed our source. “Now she’s ready to do the things she’s always wanted to in her career and feels free. When Jamie announced the news about the baby, she faced up to it and dealt with all of her emotions.
“As the due date gets closer, she’s just keeping herself busy and making a new life for herself.”
“She’s just getting her head down and letting her career flourish. She has an amazing single life full of independence and success.”
