Martin Lewis, 48, is best known for offering money advice on his show, in appearances on This Morning and via Twitter to his followers. However, the star has also revealed he was invited to appear before the House of Lords earlier today – but it didn’t go entirely to plan.
Martin told his 1.1 million followers on Twitter how he was invited to appear in front of the House Of Lords.
He wrote: “I’ve been invited to give evidence at 2pm this afternoon to the @UKHouseofLords liaison committee on Financial Exclusion.”
However, later in the day the money-saving expert confirmed everything had not gone to plan, admitting he had a “nightmare”.
Martin tweeted: “Phew. The session is over. Lords do always ask good questions.
“I had a nightmare at the start though couldn’t get in the zoom.
“Rather frustrating but we got there in the end.”
Many of Martin’s followers empathised with the difficulty of technical issues during lockdown.
Replying to his tweet, one wrote: “Bloody internet.”
While another joked with the presenter, asking: “Did you show up as a cat?”
A third added: “1st world 2021 nightmare – Zoom not working”
Some of his other followers also thanked him for taking part in the important session as well.
“Great evidence session. Thanks for sharing your expertise,” tweeted one.
