Peter Andre has gushed over his family and his wife Emily MacDonagh stressing how "thankful" he is for his loved ones just days before Christmas.

The Mysterious Girl singer, 47, who shares six-year-old daughter Amelia and four-year-old son Theo with his spouse Emily, opened up about how much his family means to him in a heartfelt statement.

"I always knew it, but being a teacher, nanny and cleaner while Emily was working on the frontline really brought it home."

He continued: "It was a challenge at times but it's something I'll never forget and I'm so proud of the kids for how they coped and how hard they worked."

Peter then touched on how his wife Emily, who he married back in 2015, worked tirelessly as a doctor for the NHS throughout the coronavirus outbreak while he was at home looking after the kids.

"The NHS is amazing and I'm so proud of Emily and all the people who've worked on the frontline during the pandemic," he shared.

"However soppy it sounds, she's kind of my hero."

The popstar finished off by counting his blessings, expressing how glad he is all of his loved ones are now healthy and safe for the holidays after Emily contracted the virus in April.

Peter, who shares daughter Princess, 13, and son Junior, 15, with ex-wife Katie Price, 42, told his readers he was scared his children would also be struck down with COVID-19 after Emily fell ill.

"After going through all that, I'm just thankful that we're ending the year with everyone being well," he went on to say.

It comes after Peter's former partner Katie has left fans feeling unimpressed after she speaking about her new man and ex-Love Islander Carl Woods.

When the mum-of-five posted a snap of Carl tapping his contactless on a PDQ machine with the caption: “Never had a man that pays until @carljwoods," fans said it was a “disrespectful” remark against Peter.

One follower commented: "This is too much. Disrespectful to your kids and their fathers. If everything is so amazing why do you need the need to prove this every second publicly?"

Another said: "Sure Peter paid his own way! Strange how you keep trying to prove he pays his own way when no one else feels the need to do this.”
