Question Time Viewers have praised Amy Hart after her appearance on the panel show on Thursday evening.

The influencer and former Love Island star appeared on the show alongside journalists and politician to give her view on the week's news and face questions from the studio audience.

The star gave passionate speeches on everything from private schools to police, following the sentencing of Sarah Everard's killer this week.

While some viewers questioned whether Amy should have been on the show, many fans flocked to Twitter to praise her after the episode aired, applauding her "knowledgeable" demeanour.

One Twitter user wrote: "So great to see Amy Hart on question to break up the usual panel of middle aged men."

Another added: "Books and covers. Opinion changed. Sad some are labelling Amy Hart as Love island influencer, whereas she sounded knowledgeable and in control of detail in this clip."

A third said: "Amy Hart has been great on #bbcqt," while another viewer added they were "impressed by Amy Hart on #BBCQT."

One user praised Amy after admitting they weren't sure who she was, writing: "I legit have no idea who Amy Hart is and saw 'influencer'.

"Fair play she's making some cracking points that's exactly the sort of person who should be on #bbcqt. Can see many viewers relating to her comments."

While some Twitter users questioned why Amy was on the show and asked whether she was "qualified" for the role, one Twitter user supported the star, writing: "The irony of people tweeting 'Who is Amy Hart?' and assuming she is unqualified to be on Question Time.

"Firstly, if you don't know her then you don't know whether she's qualified or not. Secondly, you actually don't need to be 'qualified' to have a valid opinion on politics."

Amy herself hit back at one Twitter user who asked what an influencer does all day, writing: "Film content, liaise and negotiate advertising contracts with companies, raise awareness of chosen charities and issues I’m passionate about…? Pay tax and National insurance. Provide services for large companies."

Following her appearance – for which she wore a stylish, purple suit jacket – Amy tweeted that she was "signing off" Twitter for the evening.

She wrote: "QT done. I’m not sure how I did….so on that note I’m signing off Twitter for the evening but you can catch it on BBC one at 10.35pm!"
