Rio Ferdinand reveals he is in hospital as he shares mystery snap

Oct 25, 2021

Rio Ferdinand appeared to spend his Sunday afternoon in A&E yesterday, 24 October, but it remains unknown why.

Rio, 42, shared a picture from his hospital bed yesterday, where the ex-Manchester United player expressed his frustration as his former team was thrashed by Liverpool.

The father-of-four wrote alongside a photo of his legs in bed: “Sat in A&E watching this… ffs”.

In a separate post, he said that the first hour of the match had “sent [him] to A&E”.

Rio’s wife and ex-TOWIE star Kate Ferdinand is yet to address her husband’s hospital admission, but described yesterday as being a “long day” in an Instagram story.

Sharing the posts several hours ago, Rio has not yet given an update on his hospital stay.

OK! have contacted Rio’s representatives for comment.

Rio expressed his thoughts on social media throughout the football game yesterday, and it’s safe to say the 42 year old was far from impressed.

In one tweet he wrote: “What am I seeing…”, followed by another post that read: “We are always gonna pose a threat because of the individuals we have…..but we are so easy to play through it’s unreal! Embarrassing 1st half… men against boys!”

Rio and wife Kate tied the knot in 2019, and welcomed baby son Cree in December 2020.

Earlier this month, Kate shared a sweet snap of Cree and her stepdaughter Tia together. Tia could be seen wearing a green striped school dress and pouring herself some cereal as her adorable brother was by feet.

Kate captioned the picture: "Can I have some cereal too big sis?”

Along with Tia, Kate is also step-mum to Rio's two sons, Lorenz, 15, and Tate, 13, after Rio’s first wife Rebecca Ellison sadly passed away in 2015.

Whenever Kate shares pictures of Cree and her step-children, the 30 year old never shows their faces.

In Cree's debut photograph on Kate's Instagram, the mum-of-one was wearing comfortable, post-labour underwear while Cree was resting on her shoulder, with only half of his face shown.

Ever since, pictures shared of Cree have mainly been from behind, only showing the back of the baby's head.
