Since giving birth to Rex in May, Stacey Solomon, 29, has given some refreshingly honest posts about her journey as a new mum-of-three.
Loose Women panellist Stacey has done it again by opening up about her “gut wrenching” mum guilt in another honest post to her fans on Instagram.
Stacey, who shares Rex with boyfriend Joe Swash, 37, shared a “rare” photo of her and her eight-week-old son Rex smiling and made a brutally honest admission.
In the caption, Stacey said: “I feel like I shouldn’t really have these feelings because I’m nearly 8 weeks in and I am so incredibly lucky to have amazing children, a wonderful partner, loves loving, caring, & supportive family and I’m almost a bit embarrassed to say…”
Stacey then admitted: “Truth be told, I’m Having a bit of a gut wrenching day. One of those days that physically hurts your tummy.
“I have absolutely no idea why. Mum guilt has kicked in full swing.”
The TV star then said she’s not sure why she has the feeling, adding: “Nothing in particular triggers the feeling. It’s just there. Tried to keep busy and organise the hell out of the house which has helped for short moments (but also felt guilty about it).”
Despite her “gut wrenching guilt” she said she’s “making a conscious effort to try to accept it and let the feelings come and go”.
She added: “I found this picture from a few days ago when I caught a rare snap of us both smiling at the same time (and when I’d miraculously found the energy to have fun with my make up drawer).
“I’ve been looking at it all day to remind myself that these feelings WILL pass and every day will be different.”
Stacey then had some kind words for others who may be “struggling”, adding: “Thinking of anyone else having a struggle today or any day for that matter.”
She received tonnes of praise from fans and friends in the comments of her Instagram post: “Thank you for that, I have been having a bad day and feeling sorry for myself but your right, it won't always be like this, things will get better,” one said.
While another commented: “We all have those days lovely, more frequently than we like to admit but that’s okay. Your boys love you, with or without makeup, good or bad day they LOVE you.”
“I’m a new mum and your posts are helping so much,” a third added.
Stacey has previously opened up about about some difficult days since giving birth to Rex.
Last month, when boyfriend Joe Swash was away, she revealed she was having a “weird day” in another Instagram post.
“There were some weird hormonal moments today..” she said. “But feeling the sun on my skin, fresh air and warmth is like medicine for the soul!”
Before giving birth to Rex, Stacey revealed her postnatal depression fears after revealing she "felt disconnected" after giving birth to her son Zachary.
When asked if she was worried about postnatal depression she exclusively told OK! Magazine: "Of course it’s a worry. That’s why there are such big age gaps between my children as I was so worried about putting myself back in that difficult place, mentally.”
