Taylor Swift took to Instagram on Monday to reveal that she is gearing up to let her 119 million followers in on the meaning behind the bullseye shot from her music video for “You Need To Calm Down.”
“I’m going live tomorrow, July 23 at 5pm ET! I have some stuff I’m reeeeeally excited to tell you about, including some info on this Easter egg right here,” she teased alongside a GIF of an arrow shot by synth-pop star Hayley Kiyoko darting towards a target with the number “5” embossed on it.
Swift, who is notorious for leaving a trail of easter-eggs in her music videos, is currently gearing up to release her 7th studio album, Lover, on August 23, one month from the date of the scheduled live-stream.
Swifties across the globe have been attempting to come up with a possible explanation for the particular easter-egg in question, with the most common theory being that the singer has collaborated with Kiyoko on the 5th track of the upcoming album.
“Taylor’s been a huge ally to me, just as a friend and as a musician, and it’s really cool that she just did that on her own,” Kiyoko shared with E! News at the time of the release of the video, which revolves around the LQBTQ+ community, of which Kiyoko is a part and an active advocate.
Fans can tune in to Swift’s Instagram at 5 pm ET today to learn exactly what she has been hiding up her sleeve.
