Meghan Markle’s father Thomas has announced that he will be flying to the UK to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Dan Wootton Tonight, the 77 year old branded Prince Harry an “idiot” and a “wuss” for refusing to introduce his grandchildren to the Queen during their recent secret visit to the UK.
He also said that he didn’t believe his daughter Meghan’s claims she felt suicidal prior to Megxit, saying: “The suicide story, I don’t buy that at all.”
Meghan broke down in tears in an interview with Oprah Winfrey last year as she discussed being "denied help" by 'The Firm' for her mental health struggles.
The Duchess tearfully said: "I just didn't see a solution. I didn't want to be alive anymore."
In the interview last night, Thomas spoke of his hope to meet Prince Charles to “thank him” for walking his daughter down the aisle and exchange stories about being “ghosted” by their children.
Thomas said: “I really would like to meet with Prince Charles and thank him for walking my daughter down the aisle and just to meet and talk with him.
“I think we have a lot in common now. We’ve pretty much both been ghosted by our children.
However he revealed that he believes Harry and Meghan will snub the entire Platinum Jubilee celebrations as a result of his presence in London, saying: “I’m getting the feeling that if they know I’m coming, they won’t be.”
When Dan asked: “Do you feel like Meghan has purposefully driven Prince Harry away from his family?”
Thomas said: “Yes, I do. I don’t know why but I think she had something to do with him moving out or taking her away.
“Apparently the story was about him taking her away from things that were upsetting her, I don’t buy that story, I never have since it came out.
“The suicide story, I don’t buy that at all.
“I think they were looking for some reason to get out. I don’t know why my daughter, who should have loved the idea of becoming a part of the royals and reaching out and shaking hands with children all day every day, meeting people and greeting people – it’s what an actor does too.
“She would have been so loved had she stayed and done that.
“Instead she takes Harry away. They haul up in a big house with no company. They’re just hauled up in a big house with no company.”
Saying that he was going to the UK to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee, Thomas said: “I’m looking forward to it and I’m going to show my respects for the Queen.
“I’m going to make sure the Queen understands that my entire family respects the Queen and the royals and we admire them. We want them to know that’s how we feel about them and that’s how we feel about England.”
Dan asked Thomas about Harry’s upcoming book saying: “How worried are you about Prince Harry’s book? What I’m hearing is that he’s preparing not to be very nice about his own father, Prince Charles, Prince Charles' wife Camilla, and his brother Prince William.
“Obviously the suspicion would be that he might also be not very nice about you in his book. Are you prepared for that? How do you feel about it?”
Thomas replied: “I welcome it – I’m not very nice about him.
“I’ll take him on any time. He’s like a child. He follows my daughter around like a child.
“He’s not a man. You can tell me he was in the military; I don’t believe it.
I think he’s kind of a wuss and always will be and he’s got a brother who is a real man. He has a father who is a real man, I don’t think he’s ever grown up.”
