BIG BANG's T.O.P Launches T’SPOT Wine Label

Dec 23, 2022

After being teased for months, BIG BANG‘s Choi Seung-hyun, better known as T.O.P, has finally launched his highly-anticipated “T’SPOT” wine label. Most recently the K-pop superstar, actor, and renowned art collector partner joined the dearMoon Crew, a crew of eight civilians, led by Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa, who will be flying into outer space in one of Elon Musk‘s SpaceX Starships.

T’SPOT is part of a planning, branding, and operation partnership between T.O.P and his friend Park Jae-bum of Vino P Co. Built around his immense passion for wine, T.O.P. “personally participated in the whole wine selection process,” finding expert producers in Bordeaux, France that share similar outlooks on wine through a rigorous tasting and selection process. Additionally, T.O.P reviewed an extensive range of artwork during the branding and packaging development, recruiting his long-time friend and Japanese contemporary artist Kohei Nawa to design the labels found on T’SPOT’s inaugural releases, T’SPOT SPARKLING BRUT and T’SPOT BORDEAUX RED.

Produced by Jean-Luc Thunevin, also known as “Bad Boy,” a pioneer of garage wine in Bordeaux, and his team, T’SPOT BORDEAUX RED is a mix of Merlot (80%), Cabernet Franc (15%), and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%) grapes grown in clayey plateau and clayey limestone soil. Aged equally in an oak barrel and concrete tank, the 2018 vintage expresses a ruby red color, a nose of pleasant red ripe berries and cherries, with a hint of vanilla. The medium-body classic Bordeaux wine features structure, balance, and roundness, with melted tannins and freshness that exudes complex elegant notes of raspberry, cherry, blackberry, and plum.

The Boisset Effervescence T’SPOT SPARKLING BRUT is completely made of Airen grapes with the Charmat Method (Cuve Close). The bright yellow, gold color white wine delivers a nose packed with orchard fruit like fresh apple and lemon with white flower aromas. The crisp and lively flavor carried by the bubbles offers a soft and approachable well balanced taste.

Priced at €12 and €14 EUR (approximately $13 and $15 USD), bottles of T’SPOT SPARKLING BRUT and BORDEAUX RED are available now on the T’SPOT website and at select retailers.
