Leather to Bottega Veneta is what butter is to bread, and to showcase its talents, the luxury House has just dropped Matthieu Blazy‘s latest trompe-l’œil masterpieces.
Crafting a full outfit from either calfskin or lamb skin leather, Bottega Veneta’s Spring/Summer 2023 leather items are designed to elevate those staples that we all have in our wardrobes.
Kicking off the seasonal drop, we find the much-talked-about printed leather trousers that are designed to look like a pair of wide-leg denim jeans. Priced at $7,000 USD, the jeans are served up in “Light Blue” and feature all the signatures of a pair of denim, like a five-pocket design, a metal waist-fastening button, and contrast orange stitching — of course creating V-shapes on the pockets.
For $6,900 USD, Bottega Veneta also offers up its take on a “Light Blue/White” pinstriped shirt. The printed Nappa leather number is unlined and features all the standard cues as you’d expect, as does the “Light Grey Melange” printed leather T-shirt that’s boxy in cut and priced at $5,200 USD.
Coming in to round off your full leather fit is the $6,800 USD “Camel/Grey/Blue” argyle-style v-neck jumper. As Bottega Veneta shows in its styling, the leather is so fine and malleable that it can even be tied around the neck, full Ivy League style.
