A 13-YEAR-OLD Aberdeen fan has been charged by police after a plastic bottle was thrown towards Celtic players at Pittodrie on Sunday.

The youngster launched the missile towards the pitch as jubilant Hoops stars celebrated Jota’s late winner.

The incident was captured on TV and highlighted by Sky Sports with Andy Walker branding the incident as ‘absolutely outrageous’

No-one was injured and a report will be submitted to the Youth Justice Management United.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 13-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a Breach of the Peace after a plastic bottle was thrown towards the pitch at the Aberdeen vs Celtic game on Sunday, 3 October.

“No-one was injured and a report will be submitted to the Youth Justice Management Unit.”

Speaking about the incident, co-commentator Walker said: “We talk about fan behaviour.

“Look at this celebration from the Celtic players and you get that object there from that young individual, what age is he?

“And he is throwing a plastic bottle to these players. Absolutely outrageous.”

The 2-1 victory at Pittodrie ended Celtic’s away day heartache.

The Parkhead side hadn’t won on the road in the league since Valentine’s Day.

But goals from Kyogo Furuhashi and Jota – either side of Lewis Ferguson’s equaliser – earned a precious three points for the visitors.

The result leaves Celtic sixth in the table on 13 points while the Dons sit ninth in the standings after NINE games on the bounce without a win.
