A mum-of-two was “disgusted” to receive an upsetting note through her letterbox.
Claire Whittle was given a Royal Mail delivery notice with the words “you have Covid 19” scribbled on it.
The beauty salon owner, from Liverpool, was isolating at home when she received the message.
She tested positive for coronavirus at the end of last year, along with the rest of her family.
But thankfully, the mum did not require hospital treatment and is now clear of the virus.
The 45-year-old received the first delivery note to her home in the south Wirral last Thursday.
The delivery man did not drop of the item because there was “no access”.
They added concerns: “You have Covid 19”, before leaving the parcel inside the communal entrance of the apartment complex on Saturday with the same message on it.
Claire, who runs the CJ in the City salon, was “shocked and upset” by the message.
She told Liverpool Echo : "I was in tears on the doorstep when I saw what was written on the delivery note.
"I am battling depression and isolating. I have phoned Royal Mail about it but nobody has got back to me.”
Claire added: "I had Covid over Christmas but I'm fine now.
“All my neighbours will have seen that and will know I've got Covid 19, which should be private."
A Royal Mail spokesperson said: "Royal Mail takes the health and safety of its colleagues, its customers and the local communities in which we operate very seriously.
"We have put in place a range of preventive measures to protect both our customers and our colleagues.
“The correct procedures were not followed on this occasion and we apologise for any upset or distress that this note may have caused.”
The spokesperson added: "We have reminded our colleagues of the correct procedures.
“We were the first UK company to put in place social-distancing measures in relation to parcel delivery. We pioneered contact-free delivery.
"We are temporarily not handing over our hand-held devices to customers to capture signatures."
