‘Hell’s Kitchen’ returns for its 19th season on Jan. 7, and Chef Gordon Ramsay is taking the competition to a whole new level. HL spoke EXCLUSIVELY Gordon about season 19 being the ‘best’ yet.

Hell’s Kitchen is already elevating 2021 with season 19. Chef Gordon Ramsay is taking the show to Las Vegas, the city that’s home to the world’s first Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen’s restaurant at Caesars Palace. This season, 18 aspiring chefs from around the country will head to Sin City in hopes of walking away the season 19 winner. HollywoodLife talked EXCLUSIVELY with Gordon about how this season is upping the stakes in a big way.

“We are turning things up right now. We are shaking it up. We are getting closer to the action,” Gordon told HollywoodLife. “When you are in it still and are that serious and you are taken very seriously, it shows. It is important. This is important to people. The winner wins a head chef position. It changes their life, so I am taking things seriously because they are taking things seriously for themselves. It is going to be the best season yet. I’m excited.”

Each week, the competition will get more intense as the chefs are put through rigorous culinary challenges – reaping high stakes rewards and punishments, all with a Sin City twist. At the end of the season, there is a life-changing grand prize, including a Head Chef position at Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen Lake Tahoe at Harvey’s Hotel and Casino, and the title of Hell’s Kitchen winner.

In our preview, Gordon explains how the chefs will determine what they’re cooking with in the challenge. The host reveals that one chef from the Red team and one from the Blue team will go head-to-head cooking with the same ingredients. Each player will come over to the slot machine, one will pull the lever, revealing a protein, starch, and vegetable.

Contestant Mary Lou, 28, pulls the lever first, and she’s not too happy with her results. She gets salmon, Brussel sprouts, and brown rice. She is dreading the brown rice! Hell’s Kitchen season 19 will air Thursdays at 8 p.m. on FOX.
