Before this, the mother-of-one began her career working as a journalist at her local newspaper.
In 1983, Lorraine took a researched job at BBC Scotland before landing her first on-screen role the following year.
She continued to build her wealth with a role as the Scotland correspondent on TV-AM before becoming a main presenter on GMTV.
Lorraine held the role until 1994, when she moved to a mother and baby slot after the birth of her daughter.
Her slots on breakfast television proved popular and Lorraine soon became the presenter of Nine O’Clock Live.
This was soon moved to an earlier slot and became known as Lorraine Live.
The daytime TV show was later renamed LK Today and GMTV with Lorraine.
Since 2010, she has fronted the ITV breakfast show, Lorraine which features lifestyle segments and celebrity guests.
While her ITV salary is unknown, she signed a £2.1million exclusivity contract with the television channel in 2017.
