Looking to pick up some bargains in the Boxing Day sales?

Amazon is a great place to shop when Christmas ends.

This is because lots of people put unwanted gifts up for sale on Amazon Warehouse – and they tend to be much cheaper than they first retailed for.

Martin Lewis spoke about the online shopping “secret” in his Money Saving Expert newsletter.

He said: “There's a hidden part of the giant retailer's site many haven't heard of called Amazon Warehouse.

“MSE Debs recently found a super-cheap trike there which prompted us to remind you of the bargain hunter's dream in our updated Amazon Warehouse guide.”

Everything purchased on Amazon Warehouse is eligible for free delivery.

It is stored, packed and dispatched by the online retail giant and has 24/7 Amazon post-order customer service.

Each item is given a grade depending on its condition.

If it’s marked “used – like new”, it will be in the best nick.

Other descriptions include “used – very good”, “used – good” and “used – acceptable”.

There are a variety of deals on this part of the website too.

Money Saving Expert shoppers found an £84 toddler’s trike for £44 and a £99 microwave for £76.

Other bargains they stumbled across were a £821.16 Apple Macbook Air (was £948.99) and a Samsung Galaxy S20 sim free smartphone for £568.22 (was £679.99).

When shopping in the sales, Martin Lewis advises consumers to follow his mantra.

He said: “Always ask yourself: Do I need it? Can I afford it? Have I checked prices elsewhere?

“If the answer is no to any of those questions, then DON'T BUY IT.”
