The unnamed woman, from Australia, took to the Facebook group Mums Who Clean to share her tip, where it went down a treat with fellow members.
She told how she used four of the powder tablets, which cost £2.49 for a box of 50 from the budget supermarket, to shift the hardened grime.
The mother added that it took around half an hour and required ‘some elbow grease’, but her oven is now ‘glimmering’.

She told how she used four of the powder tablets, which cost £2.49 for a box of 50 from the budget supermarket, to shift the hardened grime, and her oven was left ‘glimmering’ (pictured)
Writing on the page, she explained: ‘So I’m embarrassed to admit that I’ve probably only cleaned my oven twice in the nearly three years we’ve lived here and both times I’ve given up because I just couldn’t get the grime off!
‘I took the dishwashing tablet advice and here we are! Clean glimmering oven door!! It did take about half an hour, and some elbow grease, but it definitely works!
‘I just used the plain old Aldi tablets and I used I think four of them. There was a particularly stubborn spot in the bottom corner so I found breaking some up using sharper parts of the tablet worked to get it up.’
The woman went on the add that she dampened the tablet under a tap for a couple of seconds before applying it to the glass.

Many mothers flocked to praise her tip, with some admitting the technique worked well for them too
She said the moisture made it easier to scrub, and she used each tablet until it stopped being effective, then replaced it.
‘It was incredibly simple and easy to do, just a bit of hard work,’ she concluded.
Many mothers flocked to praise her tip, with some admitting it worked well for them too.
One commented: ‘It’s so easy, the grime basically slides right off!’

Others revealed they had modified the hack to make it easier on their hands.
One explained: ‘This stuff definitely works, but if you get it on your skin it eats through it. Ouch.’
Another wrote: ‘I dissolve the tablet in a cup of boiling water first and use a sponge scourer to clean the glass – barely any scrubbing required and you only need to use one tablet.’
And one added: ‘I’ve been doing this for years but like someone’s idea of dissolving in hot water first and using a sponge scourer.’
