DEAR DEIDRE: TWO of my friends have told me I shouldn’t share a room with my sister when we go on holiday later this year.

Despite everything, we’ve booked a coach trip to Skegness for August – hoping we will have had our jabs by then and current restrictions might be relaxed.

I am a man of 62 and my sister is 65. We are both single, so we thought we’d share a twin room.

But I was chatting to some friends on Zoom last night and they both said: “That’s not right.” They don’t think we should share.

What do you reckon?

DEIDRE SAYS: There is nothing wrong with that at all, if you are both comfortable in sharing.

Some youth hostels offer mixed dormitories now, so what’s the difference? At least you both know and trust one another.

You will be saving on the hotel’s single supplement and it will be nice for you to spend some time together. I hope your trip goes ahead and, if it does, you have a wonderful time.
