Martin Lewis gives advice on gift returns on This Morning
While Christmas gifts are always given with the best intentions, sometimes they are just not right. Thankfully, many retailers in the UK have extended return policies for the festive period.
Contactless returns can be made in stores that are open and returns will be accepted on purchases made 35 days prior to store closures.
Shoppers who have bought online have 14 days to let the retailer know, and an additional 14 days to return the products from then.
The retailer has extended its returns policy over the Christmas period and items purchased from October 16, 2020, can be returned until January 19, 2021.

Where stores are closed, shoppers will have 30 days to make returns from when they reopen.
Unwanted items bought between October 8 and December 24 can be taken back until January 28, 2021.
If your local John Lewis branch is closed, you can return products up to 35 days after it reopens.
Marks & Spencer
Products bought from October 4, 2020, can be returned up until the end of January.
A statement said: “To help you shop with confidence this Christmas we’ve extended our Christmas returns policy until January 31, 2021.
“Any purchase made between October 4, 2020 and December 27, 2020 can be returned up until January 31, 2021. Our extended returns policy applies across all online orders and in store purchases.”
B&Q shoppers have 135 days from the date of purchase to return unwanted items.
Anything bought from October 16, 2020, can be returned at any time up until January 16, 2021.
The online retailer has extended returns for items bought between November 1, 2020, and December 24, 2020.
They can be sent back for a full refund up until January 31, 2021.
The supermarket is accepting returns until January 31, 2021.
A statement said: “To help at this busy time, we’re extending our normal 30-day returns policy.
“So you’ll have until January 31, 2021 to return any gifts you buy between October 1 and December 24, 2020.”
Asda extended its return policy earlier this year to make it easier for shoppers to return amid coronavirus restrictions.
Products from George Clothing and George Home can be returned up to 100 days from when they were purchased.
Returns of Tu clothing items, sold in Sainsbury’s, can be made until January 24, 2021.
A post on Tu website said: “All purchases made between Sunday October 18 and Friday December 25, 2020 are eligible for our extended Christmas returns period, meaning you have until Sunday January 24, 2021 to return your items. Your statutory rights are not affected.”
