Britney Spears' former makeup artist has claimed that the pop star is not in control of her social media accounts.

Fans have speculated that a recent Instagram post shared on Britney's official account earlier this week was not entirely written by the singer.

In the social media update, the mother of two wrote that she was "embarrassed" by the Framing Britney Spears documentary and "cried for two weeks" after watching it.

Billy Brasfield, Britney's former MUA, has added to the speculation claiming to Page Six that the Toxic hitmaker told him herself that she had no control over the caption.

The makeup expert, who has also worked with Mariah Carey, Beyonce and Christina Aguilera, told the publication: "The content is her, but.. the words are NOT how she feels.

"I immediately knew it was not her. I texted her about it and she texted me back last night.

"What was upsetting [about the post] — it was basically a narrative denouncing her fans and the Free Britney movement and people now taking a very conscious look at the facts and what is going on."

He added: "She does not like being a victim, she never wanted to be a victim and doesn’t see herself as a victim.

Billy, who worked with Britney on The X Factor in 2012 as well as on the Scream and Shout video in 2013, revealed he doesn't think the songstress is "fragile" and believes the post was shared by others in an attempt to distract people from the current goings-on in court surrounding the singer's financial matters.

Britney's social media post comes days after she filed legal papers to request her father, Jamie Spears, to be removed as her legal conservator and replaced by Jodi Montgomery permanently.

Despite numerous attempts to end her dad’s control he remains co-conservator currently and therefore has control over her finances and a wide range of her personal life decisions.

The documents also showed she wants to be able to completely end the controversial arrangement entirely if necessary.
