Gwen Stefani celebrated 25 years of her iconic career when she released her latest single “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” on Jan. 1, 2021. Throughout the music video, Stefani took fans back in time as she dressed up in some of her most memorable looks since rising to fame as the frontwoman of No Doubt in 1995.
The music video kicks off with Stefani calling Steve Berman, an Interscope Records executive, to ask for more money for the shoot. As die-hard fans know, this is referencing the songwriter’s phone conversation with Interscope co-founder Jimmy Iovine from her “What You Waiting For?” video in 2004 (via Rolling Stone). After singing the first verse of the tune in a director’s chair, the Grammy winner took fans on a trip down memory lane, rocking the many epic hairstyles, fashion, and makeup trends she experimented with over the years.
At one part of the video, Stefani sported the bright blue hair she debuted at the 1998 MTV VMAs, as well as the matching velvet bikini top and the black jeans she wore on the red carpet (via Harper’s Bazaar). She also channeled looks from her many previous music videos over the decades, including 1995’s “Just a Girl,” 1996’s “Don’t Speak,” 2004’s “Hollaback Girl,” and 2009’s “Wind It Up.”

The Easter eggs in Gwen Stefani's video will blow your mind
Not only is Gwen Stefani’s music video for “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” the ultimate time capsule to the ’90s and early 2000s, but the Voice alum also filled the clip with tons of Easter eggs. In a YouTube video released on Feb. 9, 2021, Stefani compiled a list of the many hidden gems, asking her fans, “Did [you] catch them all?”
One of the first fun facts Stefani pointed out was that the makeup artists in the music video are her beauty team in real life. Then, when Stefani appeared as her character in the 2001 video “Let Me Blow Your Mind,” she sat in front of an image of her actual childhood home. As she got into the first chorus, Stefani paid tribute to her Las Vegas residency. During the second verse, the blue-haired Stefani from the VMAs can be seen hugging a girl in a black polka-dot dress, which happens to be her from the “Don’t Speak” music video.
Stefani also snuck in some other hidden gems, like the fact that she wore the exact outfit during her engagement to Blake Shelton. She even incorporated a handful of old extras in previous music videos, including the pirate from “Rich Girl” and the man from No Doubt’s “Spiderwebs.”
To say Stefani’s music video is a masterpiece would be a complete understatement. Catch all of the Easter eggs by watching the full clip here!
