Model Linda Lusardi is feeling as fit as ever, boasting “60 is the new 40”.

The Page 3 legend said her secret to staying slim at 62 is “not giving up on yourself.”

The former glamour star, who was in hospital for 10 days battling Covid last year, added that getting back into shape after beating the disease made her feel she “had some worth”.

And now she’s loving her toned “great figure” after getting fit by exercising just 15 minutes every other day.

She said: “I just think never give up on yourself.

“It’s important to stay fit and healthy because you live longer – and if that also gives you a great figure that’s a bonus.

“Move a bit more, eat a bit less and you’ll start to tone up.

“Then once you see the effect, you’ll want to do more. One propels the other.

“Start walking, take a Pilates class. I’ve got a treadmill at home and I do what I feel like I can, maybe just 15 minutes every other day.”

Linda and her husband of 22 years Sam Kane were both admitted to hospital with fever, chronic chest pains and vomiting after testing positive for Covid 19 last March.

At the time, Linda admitted she hoped she “wouldn’t wake up because it was so bad”.

But thankfully the beauty, who has a 21-year-old son Jack, did beat the virus and fitness has helped her get back to feeling like herself again.

She also had motivation to look her best as she stripped off ITV’s The Full Monty on Ice reality show to raise awareness about cancer.

Speaking to Best Magazine, she explained: “I’m pretty much recovered now. Thank goodness.

“The first real exercise I did since I was ill was skating for the ITV show, the Full Monty on ice, which I started doing last summer.

“We didn’t even do that much skating but the small amount really toned me up.

“It totally changed the shape of my bum.

“And it did make me feel like I was back into the working world to a healthier state of mind – like I had some worth.”

Linda admitted having hit her sixties it would be easy to let herself go.

She added: “Definitely to think ‘Oh well I’m this age, I expect to be a bit overweight’ or huffing and puffing as you go up a flight of stairs.

“It doesn’t have to be that way. I’ve said it before but ‘60 is the new 40’.

“You’re never too old to be the best you can be and I know I feel happier when I’m slimmer.”
