Terrified cinema-goers have reportedly been throwing up and fainting watching a slasher flick that fans say contains "intense gore".

Terrifier 2 was released in the US this month and has made some viewers so "sick" and "faint" that vomit bags are being dished out at some screenings.

The movie, which stars David Howard Thornton and Lauren LaVera, is a follow up to 2016's Terrifier and follows a seriously creepy clown hunting two siblings on Halloween.

And it seems it's just a little too disturbing for some viewers.

One person tweeted that it was an "amazing gory mess".

"The guy behind me passed out cold and crashed into my chair, another guy left because he didn’t feel good, I overheard him say and walking out theatre door I heard a guy puking hard and loud in the bathroom," they said.

Another said: "I saw Terrifier 2 and screamed and vomited and s****** and cried and fainted all at the same."

"Almost threw up three times watching Terrifier 2," said another person.

"This is *not* for the faint of heart," warned someone else.

"Maybe the goriest movie I’ve seen. But also one of the best slashers in my lifetime.

"Involves a rather sick blend of humour, horror, and blood."

One film fan shared: "My friend passed out and the theatre called an ambulance. Highly recommended."

Another viewer said the grisly thriller was "brutal".

"Terrifier 2 is one of the most unapologetic slashers I have ever seen," tweeted one person, adding: "Wow. Of course, it's not for the weak of stomach."

However, some fans of the genre admitted that the reports of puking and passing out were just making them even more keen to get to theatres.

One joked: "I saw a theatre passed out barf bags for Terrifier 2 so now I’m even more excited!"
