Former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan has shared pictures of his younger brother online as he wished him a happy 50th birthday.

Giving his fans a glimpse of his rarely seen sibling, Piers, 56, took to Twitter to share a cluster of photos of himself and his brother Rupert Pughe-Morgan.

In one of the throwback snaps, a much-younger Piers can be seen holding baby Rupert as they smiled happily for the camera.

While in the other shots, Piers and Rupert are seen posing at a football match and also in attendance at a wedding.

Captioning the snaps, the broadcaster penned: "Quite a sobering moment when your ‘little bro’ turns 50…" Followed by a shocked emoji.

He added: "Congrats on reaching the big half century ⁦@RPMorgan2014- and thanks for being such a ferociously loyal brother."

Some of Piers' 8million followers were certainly loving the adorable photos and took to the comment section to share their views.

One fan penned: "Such lovely pictures & what a loving elder brother you are Piers. Why can't we have a society with this spirit, each loving & respecting the other."

Another said: "Happy 50th Birthday to your brother piers."

Meanwhile a third commented: "You both have a Colin firth look about you."

"You were adorable babies. Still cute, I might add," a fourth penned.

As well as his younger brother, Piers also has an older brother named Jeremy.

Piers and Jeremy are the sons of Gabrielle Georgina Sybille and Vincent Eamonn O'Meara. However their father tragically passed away when Piers was just 11 months old.

Piers' mother then went on to marry Gynne Pughe-Morgan, with the brothers both deciding to take on their step-father's surname.

The news comes after the Life Stories presenter recently hit headlines for landing a role with new television channel Talk TV which has been created by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.

In a statement released in September, Piers said: "I’m thrilled to be returning to News Corp. which is where I began my media career more than 30 years ago. Rupert Murdoch has been a constant and fearless champion of free speech and we are going to be building something new and very exciting together."

He continued: "I want my global show to be a fearless forum for lively debate and agenda-setting interviews, and a place that celebrates the right of everyone to have an opinion, and for those opinions to be vigorously examined and challenged.

"I’m also delighted to become a columnist for The Sun and the New York Post, two brilliantly successful and popular newspaper brands."
