Robbie Williams took a savage swipe at former friend Liam Gallagher on Twitter today.

Replying to Liam's tweet about going to buy "a new frying pan" as he's got some "big f*** off fish to fry," Robbie, 45, delivered a stinging blow.

Addressing the Rock N' Roll Star singer, he said: "While you're out buy yourself a pair of b******s. [sic]"

Robbie also included a boxing glove emoji in his tweet, seemingly referencing his recent confession that he'd love to get in the ring with Liam, 47, after KSI and Logan Paul success.

Robbie said he believes that a boxing match between himself and Liam would "trounce" the YouTube stars.

A head-to-head match between the pair was first mentioned nearly 20 years ago when a £100,000 offer was put on the table during an appearance at the BRIT Awards.

And Robbie is keen to rekindle this rivalry between himself and Liam.

Speaking to GQ, Robbie said: "I’d love it. But I’d want it to be a professional fight.

"I’ve just seen how much KSI and Logan Paul made from their fight and I think we could trounce that.

"But, yeah, I think last time in the noughties Liam wanted to go down to an abandoned railway track or something.

"I don’t want to do that. It’s got to be f**king whistles and bells if it happens… Liam and I would be a wonderful thing."

Confident of his chances, Robbie added that he thinks he'd be able to knock Liam out in the "third round".

Liam and Robbie used to be firm friends in the mid-90s but fell out spectacularly at the BRIT Awards in 2000.

After being branded "the fat one" from Take That, Robbie took to the stage to ask if anyone wanted to see him fight Liam.

"Would you pay to come and see it? Liam, a £100,000 of your money and a £100,000 of my money."
