Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have reportedly united to record a ‘female empowerment’ anthem and, needless to say, fans have lost it.

It all came to light over the weekend when Taylor, 29, hosted a listening party for her upcoming album Lovers, and invited a select group of fans to preview her new music.

According to one fan, a song that was played for the intimate audience featuring vocals from Selena, 27, and Katy, 34, making for quite the star-studded soundtrack.

A fan account tweeted after the Lover Secret Sessions on Friday: ‘According to a fan who was invited and attended to #LoverSecretSessions, there will be a Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Katy Perry collab.

‘The song is all about women empowerment.’

After news of a possible Destiny’s Child reunion in 2020, it’s turning out to be quite a joyful Monday.

News of the reported collaboration comes just weeks after Taylor and Katy ended their feud by starring together in T-Swizz’s You Need To Calm Down music video.

Explaining how their reconciliation came about, Taylor recently said on Capital FM: ‘She and I have really been on good terms for a while.

‘She sent me a really nice note and an olive branch to the – like an actual olive branch – to my tour when it started, the ‘Reputation’ stadium tour, a while ago. From that point on we’ve been on good terms.’

The popstar added: ‘Then we saw each other at a party and walked up to each other and hugged it out and talked about things, and then we saw each other again and hung out at another party and it was just like something felt so much lighter about my life when things became really good between us.’

Selena is also rumoured to be making a return to music after taking time out for personal reasons.

A source told Entertainment Tonight of her comeback: ‘Selena is in a really good place.

‘She just celebrated her birthday in Italy and is really enjoying this time off before things ramp up again.’

As for the direction of her new music, the insider said: ‘Selena has gone through a lot over the years and is ready to share it with the world.’

Taylor Swift’s new album, Lovers, is due for release on 23 August.
