EastEnders fans will be devastated to hear that sources claim Adam Woodyatt could step down from the soap after signing up for I'm A Celebrity.
The Ian Beale actor, 53, is rumoured to be one of the campers on the upcoming series of the ITV reality show.
And according to The Sun, he is hoping it opens up other doors and could quit Walford for good.
"He's excited by the prospect of showing the nation who the real Adam Woodyatt is," a source said.
"He is optimistic it will open the minds of producers who might have previously only thought of him as Ian."
The insider added that plenty of celebs who have been on the reality show over the years have gone on to new ventures.
Adam is on a hiatus from the BBC soap and is currently touring with the theatre production Looking Good Dead, which was delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The star has never set an actual date for his return to Albert Square but had indicated that it would probably be in 2022.
The actor has played Ian since 1985, making him the soap's longest-serving cast member, and he is a big favourite with viewers.
I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is due to start on 21st November.
The show will not be in the Australian jungle but is returning to Gwrych Castle in Wales for the second year running amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The Daily Star has contacted the BBC and representatives for Adam for comment.
