THEIR emotional reunion on telly had viewers in tears.
And now that Adele is back in touch with inspiring teacher Ms McDonald, it seems she isn’t going to let their friendship fade again.
Insiders say that since her telly special to promote her new album, Adele has been in touch with her former English teacher and has invited her and her family to watch her in concert at BST Hyde Park next year.
A source said: “Adele’s reunion with Ms McDonald touched the hearts of everyone who watched, but no one more so than Adele herself. After the ITV Audience With her team got Ms McDonald’s number so Adele could reach out again.
“She has now offered her diamond package tickets worth £500 each to her and her family for her BST Hyde Park gigs in London. Adele wants to make sure she and her family have the best time ever and wants nothing more than to treat Ms McDonald.”
Adele’s TV appearance helped ITV to their most-watched Sunday night schedule, alongside the first episode of I’m A Celebrity.
The singer has been hard at work on the promotion trail for her new album 30 – which will go straight to the No1 spot today.
After performing in the capital, she headed to Cannes, France, where she belted out some of her biggest songs at the NRJ Music Awards in front of a host of other stars including Ed Sheeran.
LEW’S LOADED TO A HELLISH EXTENT
IT has been two years since his debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent came out – but Lewis Capaldi is still coining it in.
The record, which was the best-selling album of 2019 AND 2020, has helped his wealth rocket to £3.4million.
The Scottish superstar saw profits in his firm Face Like Thunder Ltd shoot up by £1.7million for the year ending March 2021.
An insider said: “Lewis may not have been able to tour last year but the success of his first album has left him sitting pretty. As well as being the best-selling album of the past two years, it was the most downloaded album in lockdown.
“Lewis has spent the past year or so working on his second record and he’s certainly not had to worry about his income. It’s a lovely position to be in and he doesn’t take it for granted.”
The Glasgow-born musician has made no secret of the pressure he feels about the follow-up. Lewis said previously: ‘I’ll try to write a new album and it will probably not be as good as the first one. I’ll try and make it not terrible. But I can’t promise anything.”
Earlier this year he revealed he was cancelling all of his live performances over the next 12 months to finish the record. He said in March: “All the Covid restrictions have made it harder to go and record stuff.
“For that reason, it is with an extremely heavy heart that I’ve made the difficult decision to reschedule this year’s shows.” We’ll wait for as long as you need, Lewis. And at least you don’t need to rush it out for the money.
MEGAN’S BACK ON THONG
SHE pulled out of performing at this week’s American Music Awards in LA but Megan Thee Stallion clearly feeling peachy again.
The singer shared this snap in a thong and crop top with her 26.5million Instagram followers.
Megan won three awards at the bash, where she was due to perform with K-pop stars BTS.
After winning three Grammy awards last year, she is up for two more at next year’s event.
Nominations were made public this week, with Megan up for Best Rap Performance for Thot S**t and also recognised for her work on LIL NAS X’s debut album Montero.
You’re always a winner in my eyes, Megan.
I’LL BE BURKE: ALEX’S NEW LP
ALEXANDRA Burke has vowed to return with a new album, three years after her last release.
I told last month how the 2008 X Factor winner was back in the studio working on new music.
And now, in an exclusive interview, Alexandra has confirmed a new album is coming next year.
Speaking at the launch of Amazon’s Black Friday event at Victoria House in Holborn, central London, Alexandra said: “There is new music coming next year. It is all very up- tempo, as I have to give the people what they are asking me for online.
“They say to me, ‘Hun, we don’t want no ballads!’ I said, ‘OK, I understand the assignment’. I’m in a good place now where I can write and be happy.”
The record will be her fourth studio album and the first since 2018’s The Truth Is.
ANNE-MARIE GIVES US CHILLS
ANNE-MARIE braved the cold in a very revealing leotard . . . to the delight of fans.
The singer dared to bare even as temperatures across the country plummeted.
But on Instagram she mused: “Is it me or is it the coldest ever? Or do we just say that every winter? Swipe to see the reality of wearing an Ibizan outfit in England winter.”
Hopefully Anne-Marie will choose an equally inappropriate outfit when she hits the stage at Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball next month.
Also in the line-up for that one are Justin Bieber and Coldplay.
If you’ve got a ticket, I’ll see you there.
Sam up for fest
SAM FENDER and NILE RODGERS have joined the line-up for next year’s TRNSMT festival.
The Spit Of You singer will appear in a special guest slot on Friday July 8 ahead of PAOLO NUTINI.
Nile and TOM GRENNAN will both take to the stage earlier that day.
GRIFF, EXAMPLE and NINA NESBITT have also been added to the line-up of the Scots gathering, held at Glasgow Green over July 8 and 9.
