Alex Rider, the story of an ordinary boy who is recruited to be a teenage spy by MI6, originally came from the book series of the same name by Anthony Horowitz. His story was then brought to life for the small screen last year by Amazon Prime Video. It then wasn’t too long before the action fiction series was renewed for a second outing which is almost ready to make its debut.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Alex Rider.
Alex Rider was given the go-ahead for another series in November 2020 by Amazon Prime Video.
Filming was unfortunately delayed because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic which in turn meant its release date was postponed.
Production of season two began in February 2021 with the series ready to premiere on Friday, December 3.
When Alex Rider does make a comeback, fans will meet a new friend of the teenage spy.

Who is Sabina?
Earlier this year, it was announced actress Charithra Chandran would be joining the cast of Alex Rider for season two.
The British Indian actress is making her debut in the entertainment industry with the teen action series.
But following her performance in Alex Rider, she will feature in another popular series.
Chandran is scheduled to play Edwina Sharma, the younger sister of Kate Sharma (played by Simone Ashley) in the upcoming second season of Bridgerton on Netflix.

While called Sabina Pleasure in the novel, Chandran’s character will be called Sabina Pleasance, “a confident and smart teen”.
Sabina features throughout the book series of Alex Rider, introduced as a friend of the teenager but it is clear there is chemistry between the pair.
The same will go for the second season of the Amazon Prime Video show, with Sabina acting as an ongoing love interest.
But she won’t be just someone to stand on the side-line as she is strongly linked to the main plot of season two.

Alex Rider cast: Who is in the cast of Alex Rider? [CAST]
Speaking to press, including Express.co.uk at the Alex Rider season two premiere, actress Chandran said: “[She comes into the story] through her dad and Damian Cray, he’s the main villain in season two.
“Her dad is writing about Damian Cray and Damian doesn’t want things uncovered by this journalist and that’s how Sabina gets involved.
“I think the thing with Sabina is that she just plays your average girl, she’s like the audience member.
“She doesn’t have any espionage training, she doesn’t know anything about this world.
“So I think she almost represents the audience if they were to be put into that crazy universe.”
Chandran continued: “You don’t need to know how to kill someone with every single weapon.
“Being a woman that comes with just being powerful and actually you don’t need to take on masculine traits to do that either.
“You can totally own your femininity and save the world and that’s what she does.
“I think that she is forced to grow up as you would if you’re trying to save the world.
“But other than that, she tries to stay true to herself and in a world where people are forced to change and lose that humanity, I think Sabina represents being grounded in that.”
Alex Rider season one is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
