FANS of EastEnders were all left seriously distracted by Reiss on the show last night – but did you spot why?

Tension has been mounting between Sonia Fowler and Reiss Colwell after a card game she bought for the pair to help improve the spark in their relationship and to get to know one another seriously backfired when Reiss took the game too literally.

Sonia has been attempting to drop hints to Reiss that it is her birthday on the BBC soap but it had been falling on deaf ears.

Eventually, she managed to blurt it out but was left less than impressed by her partner's reaction.

With her birthday falling on the same day as the King's Coronation, Reiss suggested that Sonia would have to bask in the glory of the parties already planned, leaving her fuming.

However, during the beginning of last night's episode, as Sonia and Reiss attempted to move forward, viewers could not stop staring as a rather peculiar device that Reiss was using to eat his breakfast.

Whilst eating his eggs, he appeared to be using a futuristic contraption to perfectly peel the shell off.

This sent Twitter into a tailspin as everyone rushed to comment on Reiss and his breakfast habit.

Writing online, one fan said: "What the heck was that egg cover device Reese used to take that egg shell off perfectly."

Another added: "WTF was that, that Reece used to take the top off that boiled egg, and how can I get one?"

Later in the episode, Reiss realised the error of his ways and attempted to make things right with Sonia.

He later threw her a mini "pre-birthday birthday," to celebrate instead.
