Charlotte Church looks unrecognisable as she starts transforming £1.5 million mansion

Dec 28, 2021

SHE rose to fame as the ‘voice of an angel’ when she was just 11 years old.

But these days Charlotte Church is a mother-of-three attempting to turn her £1.5 million estate into a luxurious hippy retreat.

And the 35-year-old, who looks very different these days, is documenting her journey for her brand new TV show – Charlotte’s Dream Build.

In a new trailer, Charlotte looks a far cry from the Welsh choir girl who won the heart of the nation back in 2005 as she got to work on the vast project.

The singer splashed out on designer Laura Ashley's former country mansion in Wales's Elan Valley and has bold plans.

Over eight 60 minute episodes, viewers will watch Charlotte renovate the property to turn it into a relaxing wellness centre and wedding venue.

The singer isn't shy about getting stuck in herself either, helping her builder dad James strip walls and rip down staircases.

There'll be insights into Charlotte's family life too, as she's filmed being mum to her children Ruby, 13, Dexter, 12 and her baby daughter with husband Jonathan Powell.

Charlotte said of the project: “I feel so grateful to have been able to buy this house. I’m absolutely obsessed with the woodlands and the outside space.

"It’s such a special place. I’m really curious about the process of developing the wellness retreat and all the upskilling I’ll be learning about building – I hope!”
