Coronation Streets Jennie McAlpine reveals hopes for Fiz and Tyrone this Christmas

Dec 6, 2021

Coronation Street’sJennie McAlpinehas expressed her hopes for her character Fiz Brown, and her ex Tyrone Dobbs (played by Alan Halsall) this festive season.

Earlier this year, Fiz and Tyrone broke up after he had an affair with Alina Pop, played by Ruxandra Porojnicu.

Tyrone kissed Alina, sparking him to call it quits with Fiz, who's since got a new boyfriend. There's been bad blood between them ever since.

Despite there being ongoing tension between the former flames, Jennie, 37, hopes that the pair may be able to put their differences aside.

When asked what she’d buy Fiz for Christmas, Jennie said: “A magic wand to get everyone – the ex, the new boyfriend, the grandmother in law to all get on!”

As to what Fiz’s Christmas wish would be, Jennie added: “For things to be as settled as they can! All she wants is for the girls to be happy, for her and Tyrone to not be at each other’s throats and for Evelyn to be in a good mood!”

Jennie’s own Christmas will be much more harmonious compared to Fiz’s, as she’ll be spending it withher husband of four years, Chris Farr, and their children, Hilda and Albert.

Discussing how she spends her Christmas, Jennie said: “Tired! With a seven year old and a three year old, we’ll be getting up very early!”

While she finds it tiring, Jennie went on to admit that Christmas has become much more “magical” since her kids have been born.

Traditions wise, the Coronation Street veteran said the family just do “the usual”.

“Mince pie out for Father Christmas, carrot for Rudolf,” Jennie explained.

“This year will be different to last of course and the lead up to Christmas will be a busy time at our restaurant, Annie’s, again which we’re especially grateful for after last year,” the mum of two added.

Following Fiz’s break up from Tyrone earlier this year, Jennie admitted that she was “gutted” the on-screen pair had called it quits.

She said on This Morning in August: “It gutted me and Alan because we love working together.”

“The thought of not seeing him was awful. But then we got the script and all the scenes of the family breaking up… they were gorgeous and chuffed the writers gave us that to do.”

Alan echoed similar sentiments, and admitted that he’d“love” for Tyrone and Fiz to get back together.
