Whenever Laura Neelan (Kel Allen) is around in Coronation Street, trouble soon follows and Kelly is left with headaches and betrayal.
The last time the mother and daughter saw each other was when Laura threw Kelly under the bus at her trial – a court case which led to Kelly being jailed for murder.
So what brings Laura back? Millie Gibson is staying tight lipped on that score but she revealed that it will bring a whole new heartache.
She explained to Metro.co.uk: ‘Next year for Kelly, she is reunited with the unfortunate face of her mum. I’m nervous for Kelly, this is never good news.
‘It will be interesting to see that dynamic – last time she saw her was in court. I love working with Kel, the way we both play it as if we are mother and daughter.
‘We both have that sarcastic, blonde, bitchy go towards each other.’
And Kelly loves playing Kelly for the same reason, admitting that she loves the feisty side to her alter ego.
And she doesn’t mind that her alter ego is hardly glam.
Millie smiled: ‘She’s a street urchin! I really like Kelly, I like how she is. Typical teenage girl at times, she just has that bolshy personality compared with other times. I miss her Summer friendship – devil and angel.’
She’s going to need to be bolshy to stand up to her loathsome and selfish mum..
