EastEnders star Max Bowden has seemingly split from his long-term girlfriend Danielle McCarney, after two years together

Max, who plays Ben Mitchell in the BBC One soap, is said to have called time on the relationship with Danielle but the parting is ‘amicable’, with the pair remaining friends.

A source close to the star told Mail Online: ‘Max and Danielle’s split had been on the cards for a while. The relationship was a whirlwind at the start but ran into trouble a few months ago. They tried to make it work but they decided to remain friends. Nobody else was involved.

‘Max is still very fond of Danielle, and he’s gutted it didn’t work out. The consolation is at least they parted on good terms.’

Max met Danielle while she was working as a runner on the EastEnders set. She now works as a runner on ITV’s Loose Women.

Metro.co.uk have reached out to Max’s representative for a comment.

A spokesperson for EastEnders told Metro.co.uk: ‘We never comment on personal matters.’

The actor has been playing the role of Ben Mitchell since 2019. Over the past two years Max has been involved in some huge storylines as Ben Mitchell, including the complicated love story with his now-husband Callum Highway (Tony Clay).

Callum is currently keeping his PTSD battle a secret from Ben after his friend and colleague Fitzy was stabbed by a mugger.

Last week (June 11), Max posted a tweet sharing a GoFundMe page he had set up and asked people to donate to the fundraiser he created for his friend’s funeral and memorial.
