Tensions are set to peak this week on Emmerdale as the much-awaited siege scenes get underway. There will be plenty of drama to fall into, but viewers may also notice that the actors are all a lot closer than usual in the upcoming episodes.
And it turns out, Emmerdale bosses actually lifted social distancing restrictions in order to film the high-pressure stand-off. The scenes see Victoria Sugden and Wendy Posner held at gunpoint at the mercy of Wendy's evil ex Russ Posner.
In a conversation with OK! and other press, Isabel Hodgins (Victoria Sugden) and Susan Cookson (Wendy Posner) spoke about how they "bubbled" before filming and revealed that the experience was an "absolute joy."
"We formed a bubble to film the scenes for the siege. For the first time in ages we were able to get into close proximity to each other which just lends something else to the performances," Susan teased.
"I've absolutely loved it. It's a great storyline, full of drama from start to finish," she added.
And she isn't the only one. Isabel was equally pleased to temporarily shirk the soap's strict social distancing guidelines. The star revealed that she was thrilled to be able to "hug and touch" her co-stars again.

"These scenes have been so good to film," she said. "Luckily we were all allowed to bubble up and we could film within two metres of each other for certain scenes. This has made it extra fun. We were able to hug and touch.
"It was high drama and I've missed doing that. I was filming with a great group of people so I had the time of my life!"
Isabel may have been having a ball, but were pretty sure Victoria would have been grateful for some distance from Russ!

Isabel teased that dramatic scenes – which will play out over the course of a few episodes – will leave viewers on the "edge of their seats."
The soap star admitted that it's touch and go for both her character and Susan's as they attempt to evade Russ.
She explained: “It’s terrifying as they don’t know which way it’s going to go, or how far Russ will take it. Then there’s a gunshot. It’s going to be an edge-of-your-seat few episodes…”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
