Kim Tate (Claire King) has her finger in many a pie in Emmerdale – and after she managed to get her claws into the destroyed factory, ending Rishi Sharma’s (Bhasker Patel) business empire – it became clear that she had acquired the land for a project with a mysterious partner.

She phoned up her unnamed associate and boasted about her achievement before adding that she would easily put Jai (Chris Bisson) in his place as he still has an impression that he has some kind of say in the business.

Lo and behold, a few days later, suave businessman Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) shows up flashing the cash, seemingly in the village to win over his doubtful son Ellis (Asan N’Jie). But after playing the doting dad – and making Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) feel pushed out in the process – Al made a call to his business partner asking for an update and confirming he’d be sticking around in this ‘dump’.

We know that Al has come over from Dubai where he was running an outdoor activity project. We also know that Kim plans to open something similar in the Dales – which is going to be news to Jai.

And Claire King has already confirmed that Kim’s new right hand man has travelled from Dubai. We don’t like to think we are geniuses here, but we can certainly join up those dots and safely claim that Al and Kim are working together.

And we simply can’t wait for charm on legs Al to get under the skin of gruff Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough).

However, it does mean that there is disappointment in store for Ellis, who will likely find himself let down by his dad again. Al is already lying to him about his true motives for being in the village and he’s not quite the family guy he is professing to be.

But how will the village react when Kim and Al reveal their plans?
