Emmerdale took an unexpected turn on Friday night when Kyle Winchester (played by Huey Quinn) finally confessed to the police that he was the one who shot Al Chapman (Michael Wildman). Much to the horror of his mum, Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb), the pair denied knowing anything about the murder.
However, how will Kyle’s dad, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) react when he finds out what the youngster has done?
The episode saw Kyle confessing all to the police after he had spoken to Caleb (Will Ash).
Caleb, who claims to be Cain and Chas’ (Lucy Pargeter) half-brother, gave the child advice on what to do.
As Kyle sat waiting for Nate (Jurell Carter) to come back, Caleb said: “Alright, Kyle, what’s up?”
“I am helping Nate clean the barn,” the youngster replied as Caleb quizzed: “How come you’re out here then?”
Kyle explained: “I told Nate I was thirsty so he went and got me a drink. Moira told him to watch me.”
“You know why that is, don’t you?” Caleb probed before adding: “I have been exactly where you are.”
“With my dad?” the child asked as Caleb said they were related. “Moira didn’t want me to tell you this but, I am his brother. What do you think about that?”
He continued: “Once upon a time when me and your dad were together I stole a car, which was stupid as I was too young to drive.
“But your dad got me out of it, he saw the police coming after us, he stopped the car and told me to run so I did.”
However, Kyle went on to confess to Al’s murder. He told Caleb: “I didn’t know he’d go to prison. I didn’t mean it.”
However, fans have become growingly concerned about the newcomer, with many questioning who he really is.
Many believe he could end up being Chloe Harris’ (Jessie Elland) dad, while others claim he could have been related to Al.
If this is the case, could Caleb be out for revenge?
Taking to Twitter to share their thoughts, Grianne wrote: “Al was in care, Caleb was in care.
“Caleb shows up not long after Al’s death? Could he be Al’s Foster Brother out for revenge potentially? Stranger things have definitely happened, that’s for sure lol.” (sic)
Morgan Andrews theorised: “Calling it now; Caleb will turn out to be Al’s foster brother from when he was in care. He’ll be there for revenge against Cain for “killing Al”.” (sic)
“That’s an interesting thought,” Simon Ramsay replied.
While user @Thedragon18137 added: “They are about the same age! Caleb’s up to something I can feel it.”
Su Bramley went on to predict: “Am I the only one who thinks Caleb will take the wrap for the Al Chapman murder to prove his loyalty to Cain?”
However, Ryan Glendenning penned: “I still don’t think Caleb is Cain’s brother? He’s definitely Amy and Chloe’s dad? I wonder if Kerry had an affair with Caleb? #Emmerdale
“Did Kerry say their real dad was a street drug thug, no name given? #Emmerdale,” Tam went on to say.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
