Dick Strawbridge and his wife Angel Adoree have become fan favourites over the years for their Channel 4 show, Escape to the Chateau. Viewers have watched the duo as they renovated their dream home, Château de la Motte-Husson in France. Despite stumbling across a few hurdles along the way, over the course of six years, Dick and Angel have slowly built their family the home they always wanted. They even managed to open and run a successful wedding and events business from the Chateau.
The duo, who often have disagreements about their renovation plans, gave their fans an insight into how they spent Christmas with their children, Arthur and Dorothy.
In a recent clip posted to their website, Dick and Angel had a go at wreath making.
However, it didn’t go to plan for the engineer, as he accused his wife of sabotaging his project.
“You can do something nice with the three of them,” Angel said as she demonstrated how to make the wreath.
The designer continued: “The thing is you need a bit of foliage. You can use ribbons, but we will be doing that a little bit later on.”
Angel laughed as Dick held up some sticks for his wreath. He said: “It’s broken.
“It’s okay, nobody will know. It’s not like we were…”
Before Dick could finish his sentence, he and Angel burst out laughing.
“That’s not how you do it,” Angel scolded as she tried to explain what to do.
Dick then proceeded to drop the sticks on the floor as he accused: “You passed it to me.
“I’ve been booby-trapped, I have been sabotaged, my credibility is gone.”
Dick seemed to give up as he threw the sticks on the table, while Angel attempted to carry on with the demonstration.
“Stay here where I can see you,” Angel told her husband as she told him what they were trying to make.
“You’ve basically got to make this. I am not going to do all three I am just going to concentrate on one.”
Holding up one of Angel’s creations, Dick joked: “I made this one earlier.”
“I love things wild and homemade,” the mum-of-two replied.
The couple concluded the festive video by thanking their fans at home.
Angel appeared to get emotional as she said: “The thing is, it’s all about family.
“Being happy and being with loved ones. We just want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
“Have a lovely Christmas,” she added as Dick explained: “She’s the soppy one.”
Escape to the Chateau is available to watch on All4.
