Piers Morgan upset one dedicated Good Morning Britain viewer who called him out for interrupting Susanna Reid every morning.
Wednesday’s episode featured married couple Alun and Elaine Rees, who had unwittingly been the source of frustration in their home county of Powys, Wales when their old telly disrupted the internet connection for all their neighbours whenever they watched Good Morning Britain.
Elaine, who crocheted a blanket throughout the live interview, was asked why she loves tuning in to Piers.
She revealed: ‘You make me laugh, but you make me cross.’
Asked why, Elaine said: ‘You won’t let Susanna talk.’ Cue laughter and a very thankful look from Susanna.
The couple turned out to be popular with people watching at home on Wednesday that Piers and Susanna continued their interview after the ad break.
Alun was understandably pretty nervous about being on live TV and initially refused to chat to Piers, but later relaxed a bit and spoke about his 45 year marriage to Elaine.
He joked that ‘not listening to the wife’ was the key to a happy marriage.
‘He can’t hear me because he doesn’t put his hearing aid in,’ Elaine added.
Viewers were loving the hilarious interview first thing in the morning.
After learning they had to get rid of their old TV because of the trouble it was causing to the people in their village, Piers vowed that the show would gift them with a brand spanking new 4K telly.
Piers said: ‘You know Andi Peters? We’re gonna send him with a 65-inch TV to your house next week’- and obviously the couple were delighted.
Wrapping up the interview Susanna thanked Elaine for pointing out that she has to deal with Piers frequently talking over her.
‘Us women have got to stick together’, Elaine replied.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
