Inside 16 & Pregnant's curse after Jordan Cashmyer & Valerie Fairman's sudden deaths as stars battle addiction & arrests

Jan 17, 2022

TAKE a look inside the 16 & Pregnant curse, including the deaths of two cast members, countless drug addictions, legal troubles, and arrests.

The cast has seen its fair share of obstacles over the years, from mugshots to prison sentences for a group that seems doomed for drama.

Jordan Cashmyer's Tragic Passing

On January 16, the news broke that Jordan, 26, had passed away.

According to TMZ, the death of the former MTV star was confirmed by a medical examiner, although the cause remains unknown.

Her father, Dennis Cashmyer Jr., also confirmed his daughter's death in a Facebook post on Sunday saying: "Last night I received a call no parent ever wants. My oldest beloved daughter, Jordan has passed away, she was only 26 years old."

He told fans that his heart was "broken" over the matter and asked that they "respect the family's privacy" during the difficult time.

Jordan became a part of the series 16 and Pregnant when it first aired in 2014, and the show documented her tumultuous relationship with her baby daddy Derek.

The pair shared their daughter Evie, though the young mom temporarily signed away her custody rights to Derek's mother in 2015 since she was allegedly dealing with drug addiction and mental health issues.

Valerie Fairman Death by Overdose

In December of 2016, Valerie died of an apparent overdose at the age of 23.

The mother of one starred on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant back in 2010, which documented the birth of her daughter Nevaeh.

At the time of her death, her mother told TMZ that Valerie was at a friend’s home in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, and would not come out of the bathroom.

The friend finally broke down the door and found the TV star unresponsive.

Throughout the five years before her passing, Valerie had checked into five different rehab treatment facilities before continuously relapsing.

She was seen frequently fighting with her boyfriend Matt on-air, who was unconvinced that Nevaeh was his daughter until a paternity test proved his parenthood.

Valerie Fairman's Arrests

Prior to her death, Valerie regularly came in contact with the law as she struggled with drug abuse throughout her youth.

In 2011, the MTV star was arrested for allegedly beating up her adoptive mother, leading the woman to suffer a broken vertebra.

The unruly teen was reportedly charged and held for several days at a youth detention center.

By 2012, Valerie was arrested for a handful of other crimes, including three misdemeanors and felonies, and after violating her probation, was sentenced to 22 months in prison.

In 2015, she was arrested on charges of prostitution after allegedly offering to perform a sexual act on an undercover officer in exchange for money.

Just one week before her death she was booked for resisting arrest and giving false identification to police.

Jenelle Evans' Arrests

Jenelle, 30, has been arrested a total of 15 times, beginning in 2010 when she was booked for breaking and entering with drug paraphernalia.

After one year of probation, the reality star was arrested again in 2011 for assault after getting into a fight, which landed her first 30-day jail sentence.

In the next two years, she was arrested for both drug use and harassment after a series of phone calls made to a former roommate.

The arrests kept coming over the next decade for various reasons, mainly harassment, and fights, though she's seemingly wiped the slate clean in recent years.

Farrah Abraham Arrests

Over the weekend, TMZ reported that Farrah was arrested after she allegedly "slapped a security guard" at Grandmaster Records in Hollywood, where she was out partying with a friend.

Just one day after the arrest, Farrah shared a video of herself on the ground during the altercation.

The Teen Mom OG alum was on her stomach as a security guard held her arms back and pushed her leg down.

Farrah attempted to move her body as the security guard restrained her.

In the following slide, Farrah tagged the venue and wrote: “What a horrible dining experience being battered and assaulted by your staff.

Farrah continued: “The staff yet again attack a paying customer and hold me against my will and hurt me. The only 1 out of 3, woman abuse must stop.”

In 2018, the TV personality was arrested "for misdemeanor battery and trespassing" following a night at the Beverly Hills Hotel, landing her with two years of probation.

Lori Wickelhaus' Child Pornography Charges

Lori, 28, was indicted in 2020 on 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a child in a sexual performance.

The former MTV star has since pled guilty and in August was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for child pornography.

The 16 & Pregnant star was arrested a year prior when an anonymous tip disclosed that an "unknown subject uploaded images that depict child pornography to a dropbox account," according to a police report obtained by The Sun.

Lori was known for her 2010 appearance on the MTV show, where she decided to give up her newborn son for adoption.

Danielle Cunningham Arrest

In 2012, 18-year-old Danielle was arrested on charges of domestic violence after an explosive argument with her grandmother.

“The verbal argument turned physical when Danielle’s grandmother pushed her and Danielle pushed back! The police were called and Danielle was taken into custody," a source said of the encounter at the time.

Whitney Purvis' Terroristic Threats

Whitney, 31, was booked on October 14, 2021, from an alleged incident that occurred one month prior, according to Bartow County, Georgia jail records.

The MTV alum was accused of making "terroristic threats and acts," though she was released the next day on a $5,000 bond.

Last week, The Sun exclusively revealed that Whitney had allegedly "threatened to blow her baby daddy's brains out" after losing custody of her two sons.

Following an argument, the father of her children, Weston, claimed she then went to his wife’s place of work and caused a scene by “being belligerent and was asked to leave by a manager.”

The young dad then claimed she then returned to his residence to threaten him that she would “blow [his] brains out” and “make [him] a widow.”

Then, Whitney allegedly sent her ex a series of incriminating texts, reading: "I swear, if it is the last thing I do, I'm gonna kill you."

An officer reported the message included the details: "'Slit your throat, poison you, make you inhale toxic gas,' and other various things."
