LARRY King's ex-wife Shawn Southwick King has spoken out about the television host's funeral, sharing that the entire family wore his signature suspenders to honor his life.
The Larry King Live host passed away just four short days ago from health complications, following his hospitalization for Covid-19 earlier this month.
Shawn, 61, has spoken out about the burial of her estranged husband and divulged a special tribute that the family arranged in his honor.
The actress shared that Larry was laid to rest in a "beautiful" ceremony that was only open for family.
"We laid him to rest this morning. And in the Jewish faith, they do it very quickly, so you almost don't have time to, for me, to process," the mother of three told Entertainment Tonight.
"I'm still processing. And as are the boys, the whole family is just, you know, yeah."
Shawn then detailed a special homage to the Emmy award-winning interviewer, adding: "We all, it was just family, we wore Larry's suspenders, every one of us.
"And it was a beautiful, loving … just perfect, just perfect. It was family. There was no showbiz, no, none of that."
Larry's eighth wife then added a sentimental note: "Death is maybe the great equalizer, I think.
"When you experience it with people who we really, really love, all the other noise and the nonsense that could be surrounding, it just goes away and the family goes close together. And that's what happened.
"You know, it was beautiful," she finished.
Larry's passing was announced on January 23rd, as Ora Media took to the radio host's Twitter page to share the news.
"With profound sadness, Ora Media announces the death of our co-founder, host, and friend Larry King, who passed away this morning at age 87 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles," the company wrote.
The television production studio then spoke about the celebrity's rich career in broadcasting, commemorating: "For 63 years and across the platforms of radio, television, and digital media, Larry's many thousands of interviews, awards and global acclaim stand as a testament to his unique and lasting talent as a broadcaster.
"Larry always viewed his interview subjects as the true stars of his programs, and himself as merely an unbiased conduit between the guest and audience," they praised.
Larry married Shawn on September 5th in 1997, his eighth marriage to seven different women over the span of five decades.
The CNN host had five children throughout his marriages, though two sadly and strangely passed this past summer, only 23 days apart from one another.
The news presenter is survived by his namesake Larry King Jr. whom he shares with his ex-wife Annette Kaye, Cannon, 20, and Chance, 21, his sons with Shawn.
Larry filed for divorce from Shawn in 2010, though he retracted the paperwork shortly after.
He filed once again, nine years later, in August of 2019 citing irreconcilable differences following 22 years of marriage.
"We had a big age difference and that eventually takes its toll," Larry disclosed about their separation.
"We overcame a lot, but eventually it became a ships passing in the night situation."
