The ITV newsreader, 40, guest-anchored the show a few times last year, including the chat show's first all-black line up in October alongside Judi Love, Brenda Edwards and Kelle Bryan.

As she was revealed as the latest addition to the Loose Women line-up, Charlene said: "I'm absolutely buzzing after all this time to be able to announced I am the latest and the newest Loose Woman."

The Loose Women Twitter page wrote: “It's OFFICIAL! Charlene White has joined the #LooseWomen family.

“We hope you'll join us in extending a very warm welcome to our newest fully-fledged panellist.”

Joining Charlene on the Loose Women panel on Monday was Nadia Sawalha, Stacey Solomon and Frankie Bridge.

Andrea, 51, announced she was leaving the ITV daytime talkshow after 13 years as the coronavirus changed her perspective on life.

After she was surprised by her fellow panelist Brenda Edwards to sing a song, Andrea became overwhelmed with emotion.

Fighting back tears, Andrea, who suffered a secret breakdown last year, said: “Can I just say, being on Loose Women is like a real life soap opera.

“It really, really is. There’s highs, there’s lows, there’s drama, there’s everything else and I’m like the landlady of the Rovers Return.

“I’m just handing over my bar but I’ll be back for my chardonnay, that’s all I’m saying.”

As Andrea giggled she became tearful before saying: “Oh ladies, that’s it from me. Bye!”

Throughout her final show, where Coleen Nolan revealed Andrea was the “longest-serving Loose Woman in the show's history” after 1,409 episodes, Andrea was treated to many surprises including the performance from Brenda Edwards, a special Loose Women cake and gifts.
