Lucifer: Netflix release preview teaser of conversation with God

More heartache seems to be on the way for Lucifer Morningstar’s (played by Tom Ellis) troubled demon friend, Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt). As the wait for the next episodes of season five to be released on Netflix continues, a troubling picture on the star’s Instagram page has prompted some harrowing theories from concerned fans.

Principal star Lesley-Ann Brandt has released a concerning sneak peek at the next instalment of Lucifer on her Instagram page.

The new screenshot from season five, part two features Brandt as the demon bounty hunter Mazikeen, turning away from Tom Ellis’s Lucifer in tears.

She captioned the new still ‘What’s going on here?’, adding a suspicious devil emoji to fuel her followers’ speculation.

Her new post was soon packed with comments and theories from fans based on what we know of Maze and Lucifer’s relationship from their last interaction in season five’s midseason finale.

With Maze’s potential love interest, Eve (Inbar Lavi), reportedly returning in season five, fans are praying there won’t be any more heartbreak for the ill-fated pair.

One follower wrote: “I think it’s about Eve not Trixie. If it is Trixie, Lucifer [would be more] emotional than Maze.”

Rumours have also been circulating that a major character will be killed at some point in the next eight episodes.

Theories have ranged all the way from Lucifer’s therapist Linda Martin (Rachael Harris) to Trixie Espinoza (Scarlett Estevez), the plucky young daughter of Chloe Decker (Lauren German).

Alternatively, some fans even spotted the corner of what looks like one of Dan Espinoza’s (Kevin Alejandro) signature leather jackets.

“RIP Dan you’re gonna be missed,” one fan preempted. Another added: “First I thought that could be Dan.”

However, they also conceded Eve’s death would certainly make the most mark on the emotionally vulnerable demon.

Before Mazikeen joined forces with Lucifer’s twin Michael, her heart had been broken when God’s first woman, Eve, came to town in season four.

Eve briefly revived her passionate relationship with the devil, but decided to travel around the world just as Maze was ready to admit her feelings for her.

The aforementioned ‘Lucifan’ went on: “Now I’m pretty p****d cause I think the one in your arms is Eve.

“And Maze will surely be mad about that. Waiting [for] a hell of a fight!”

Brandt’s followers were also quick to point out both Maze and Lucifer appear to be dressed for a funeral, so the star may have revealed an early glimpse of the first major death in the series.

Meanwhile, other fans simply vented their frustrations that Netflix still hasn’t confirmed a release date for season five, part two.

One complained: “Just drop season 5B already we can’t take this.”

Production is already well underway for season six, so eager viewers are optimistic the next episodes and the answers to all their burning Lucifer questions are only a few weeks away.

Lucifer Season 5, Part 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
