Money Heist is known for its brave sacrifices, and the latest instalment of the Spanish hit was no different. Following the explosive death of Tokyo (played by Úrsula Corberó), some fans think the conclusion of the popular Netflix series could kill off another beloved character.
A new fan theory has proposed a devastating end for Denver (Jaime Lorente) and Manila (Belén Cuesta) in the fifth and final season of Money Heist.
The two cousins reunited at the start of the show’s third season, along with her godfather Moscow (Paco Tous), Denver’s father.
Named Juan at birth, Denver’s cousin had transitioned since their last meeting and now goes by Juanita.
The pair have since formed a strong bond after catching up over the course of the latest seasons, but their family reunion could be cut brutally short.
Already a blood-soaked outing for the series, one fan took to Reddit to suggest Denver could join Tokyo on the list of casualties by Money Heist’s finale.
User S02EP13 pointed to a heartfelt final phone call between Denver, Manila and Moscow as potential foreshadowing for Denver’s brave sacrifice.
They posted: “The Denver and Moscow phone call with Manila’s father flashback tells me that Denver will probably die saving Manila or alongside Manila.”
Denver was raised by his father after Moscow, aka Agustin, abandoned his mother when he was a young child.
With little to know immediate family to speak of, Denver and Moscow took on the world together but were glad to find a new cohort when the Professor (Álvaro Morte) assembled his team.
However, Denver still considers his family the most important members of the team, including his wife Stockholm (Esther Acebo) and their young son.
The fan continued: “I used to think Stockholm would for sure be the only factor if it will happen.
“But after watching this half, I feel like they are moving towards Denver saving his closest family left, for her to continue to live happily.”

As Money Heist hurtles towards its conclusion this December, this viewer is convinced neither Denver nor Stockholm will be able to leave without the other dying.
After his surprise reunion with an estranged member of his family, Denver may have no option but to sacrifice his life to let Manila and Moscow escape.
On the other hand, fans are also concerned Manila’s late entry in the show is proof the writers are setting her up to take a fall.
In the comments, another viewer speculated: “I don’t necessarily want that but I can see it.”
“Or maybe it’ll be the opposite, with Manila sacrificing herself to save Denver because ‘he’s been there for her her whole life’. One of the two, I guess.”
Moreover, Denver’s sacrifice would finally allow Stockholm to live the life she always wanted to lead before she joined up with the Professor.
Hopefully Money Heist’s final season will grant its surviving characters the happy ending they deserve, but viewers will still be on tenterhooks until the next five episodes finally drop.
Money Heist Part Five, Volume Two will be released on Friday, December 3 on Netflix.
